The new Cadillac CT6 prestige sedan is well equipped with a host of innovative technologies. Of these is the industry leading, surround-vision video recording system. The new Cadillac CT6 uses seven exterior cameras, four of which are dedicated to capture footage of the vehicle’s surroundings. These well hidden but effective cameras are placed on each door-mounted rearview mirror, the front grille and on the rear trunk lid.
When activated the surround view cameras offer footage from the front and rear cameras while the vehicle is in motion. When the vehicle is parked and the security system is activated, all four cameras can record every angle surrounding the CT6 if the vehicle is disturbed. All four cameras can also be used during vehicle operation to provide a 360-degree display on the CUE screen.
Footage captured by the surround-vision system is stored on a standard SD card located in the truck of the vehicle. Specific captures can be saved indefinitely or video files can be transferred to the driver’s personal computer.
